My new job is a blast

Phew! I taught my first day of high school science today and whaddaya know - it was a total blast!

Some highlights included - running around the room , screeching, with my eyes closed while explaining bat sonar, throwing a bag of plastic balls across the classroom as a demonstration of evaporating atoms, and the old classic - mixing vinegar and baking soda just for fun.

Teaching is a whirlwind mixture of many different things , but the fun part is the challenge of keeping the kids attention focused. I think it will be a fun year.
